The Sprayway Leja Jacket, uses 2.5 layer Hydro/Dry 30 D Polyamide (tough durable Nylon), waterproof, windproof fabric with excellent improved breathability for greater comfort when perspiring in this hiking jacket. Laminated inside the outer fabric the waterproof membrane is protected on the inside by a printed layer which aids breathability. Taped seems are used throughout to ensure the jacket is fully waterproof. A Durable Water Repellent DWR coating is applied to the surface fabric to aid breathability by helping to stop the surface fabric from wetting out when its raining. Two, mesh lined, zipped hand pockets with durable Taffeta bases, aid ventilation. The grown on hood has a wired peak, volume adjuster and elastic cord around the face aperture with non-whip toggles for adjustment.  The stylish reversed front zip is protected by an inner storm flap to keep out the rain. Features & Benefits

  • The new improved Sprayway Hydro-Dry 2.5 layer 30 D Polyamide (tough durable Nylon) fabric is waterpoof, windproof and highly breathable. An inner waterproof, breathable membrane layer is protected on the outside by a hard wearing, plain weave 30 D polyamide ( tough durable nylon) on the outer face and a print layer on the inside.  With a minimum hydrostatic head of 10,000 mm and very impressive breathability of 15,000 gms/sq m/24 hrs the fabric is able to remove perspiration at a rate which rivals the performance of Gore-Tex.
  • The outer surface of the material is treated with a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) surface treatment. This helps to prevent the surface of the material from wetting out when it rains and therefore enables perspiration vapour to escape from the inside more easily when its raining.
  • Fully taped seams with durable seam tape ensures full waterproof protection.
  • Designed for walking and hiking, this jacket has a back length of 76cm for size 12 with enough room underneath for winter layering.
  • Drop tail for butt protection at the back and unrestricted leg movement at the front.
  • This tough, durable jacket weighs in at only 240 gms ( 8.5 oz) for size 12 which is less than half the weight of a bag of sugar.
  • Two zipped side pockets with a mesh / silky smooth, durable nylon taffeta base lining.
  • Pocket zips protected by storm flaps for outstanding performance in keeping out the rain.
  • A stylish full length reversed front zip with internal storm flap to keep out the rain.
  • Cuffs are partly elasticated with Velcro adjustment tabs to keep out the drafts. These tabs can be used easily when wearing gloves or mitts.
  • The bottom hem has an elasticated draw cord front and back. There is a toggle on each side where the elastic can be tightened to keep out the drafts.
  • Grown on hood with quality wired peak.
  • The hoods reinforced wired peak keeps out driving rain. The hood also features an excellent system for adjusting the elasticated draw cord around the face aperture. A toggle can be held down between finger and thumb whilst the elasticised cord is adjusted, fabric guides prevent the cord from being whipped into your face by the wind.
  • The velcro volume adjuster at the back of your head enables the hood to be adjusted to give the optimum vision / protection from rain combination.
  • Chin guard with micro-fleece lining at the top of the internal storm flap gives excellent comfort on your face. This stops facial hair from being caught in the zip.
  • Sprayway embroidered logo, a great sign of quality.
  • All Sprayway garments are produced in factories which meet the standards set by the Fair Wear Foundation with safe working conditions, no child labour, fair pay, limited hours, no forced labour, a proper contract and the right to form associations for the purposes of bargaining with their employers.

Technical Specifications

Weight Only: 240 gms (8.5 oz) for size 12

  • Sprayways new improved 2.5 layer Hydro / Dry 30 D Polyamide fabric (tough, durable nylon) is guaranteed to keep you dry and will hold back a column of water 10 metres high without leaking i.e. the Hydrostatic head is 10,000 mm. There is a breathability rating or MVTR (Moisture Vapour Transfer Rate) of 15,000 g per square metre every 24hrs. So if your jacket is made from 1.3 square metres of material, it will transfer 19.5 litres of perspiration every 24 hrs.
  • The fabric used, has a hard wearing plain weave 30 D Polyamid face with the waterproof membrane layer laminated on the inside, this is protected by a printed inner layer for enhanced breathability.
  • The outer surface of the material is treated with a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) surface treatment. This prevents the surface of the material from wetting out when it rains and therefore enables perspiration vapour to escape from the inside even when its raining.
  • The DWR will wear off in time and is best replenished every six months or so when the garment is washed. This can be done using the reproofing products supplied by Nikwax and Grangers. See this video for Garment Care: Using Nikwax Tech Wash and TX.Direct Re-Proofer
