Gloves Mitts and Mittens include high specification warm insulated gloves for winter sports such as ice climbing, skiing, snowboarding and working in cold conditions. Lightweight, high performance materials are used and some gloves are waterproof whilst others have a soft-shell with a water repellent, windproof, extra breathable skin. In some cases the shell is a stretch fabric for ease of movement and comfort. Insulation varies including fleece and high loft polyester; all these materials are good at wicking perspiration away from the body so the fabric stays as dry as possible and therefore warmer. Gloves allow excellent dexterity for working outdoors in cold conditions whilst Mittens are warmer as the fingers are held together for extra warmth.
